The aeronautic industry, as well as other transport industries (road and high-speed railway) represents engineering fields in which the development of lightweight and reliable structures is a critical issue. However the transportation industry is responsible for more than 25% of all human-induced carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Therefore, these industries always look for advances to diminish their environmental impact. One important step for this objective was the introduction of composite materials several decades ago. These materials present high specific properties that allows to reduce fuel consumption and therefore gas emissions. However, these materials shown poor recyclability and its high amount of production waste, estimated at 30% of total, preventing its usage into the automotive sector. Also existing EU regulations drive the aeronautic industries to make efforts in carefully dealing with production and end-of-life waste materials. Regarding the composite material science, the introduction of a material system composed by recycled fibre and thermoplastic resins could be a game  The aeronautic industry, as well as other transport industries (road and high-speed railway) represents engineering fields in which the development of lightweight and reliable structures is a critical issue.
